INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS

The Poison Spyder Customs RockBrawler BFH

front bumper is easy to install with the right

tools and good mechanical abilities. If you are

not condent in your mechanical skills, please

seek the help of a professional to perform the

installation. Please read through these entire

instructions before proceeding with installation.

PARTS LIST

(1) RockBrawlerBFHBumper

TOOLS NEEDED

• TorxT55socket

• Ratchet

• Torquewrench

• Measuringtape

• Softdeadblowhammerormallet

• Fine-tip felt marker, 1/2” drill bit and drill

motor(CJmodelsonly)

BEFORE YOU BEGIN

ThePoisonSpyderCustomsFrontStingercomes

asun-painted,baresteel.Youwillwanttoeither

powdercoatorpaintthebumperpriortoinstall.If

paintingyourself,carefulpreparationwillmakea

bigdifferenceinthequalityandlongevityofyour

paintjob,evenusing“rattlecan”aerosolpaints.

Begin by thoroughly cleaning the Stinger with

solventordegreaser,thenmakesureallresidue

isremoved.Evenifyouusecheappaint,tryto

useagoodqualityprimer.“Etching”primersare

besttouseonbare,un-paintedmetal.Allowitto

properlydrybeforepaitning,andbetweenpaint

coats.

INSTALLATION PROCEDURE

1. Park the Jeep on a at,level surface and

settheparkingbrake.

2. Removeexistingfrontbumper.Ifitisstill

the OEM bumper and hardware, there are

four bolts (two on the top and two on the

bottomthatholdthebumperinplace).These

willlikelybeTorxbolts,useaT55Torxbit.

3. PlacetheRockBrawlerBFHBumperonto

theframe rails,in placeof thebumperthat

was removed.  Visually align the bumper

mounting slots with the threaded holes in

the frame rails.  Take measurements to

ensure that the bumper is installed square

to the frame and grill.  Use a soft dead-

blow hammer, if necessary, to make ne

adjustments.

4. OnCJmodels,useane-tipfeltmarkerto

mark throughthe rearward winch mounting

holes (closest to the grille) onto the

crossmemberunderneath.Pullthebumper

off and drill the two marks with a 1/2” drill.

Later, when installing the winch, the two

rearward bolts will sandwich the bumper

betweenthecrossmemberandthewinch.If

notinstallingawinch,usetwo3/8-16X1Gr8

HexHeadCapScrewswithatwashersand

locknuts(notprovided)tosecurethebumper

tothecrossmemberatthesetwolocations.

5. Use the original hardware to bolt the

bumper to the frame rails.  Torque to OE

specications.

6. If installing a winch with Poison Spyder

WinchFairleadMount,followtheinstructions

includedwiththeWinchFairleadMount.
